Driven by a deep fascination with the Bronze Age and the maritime legacy of the Minoan civilization, I modeled this sculpture after an ancient amphora resting on the Mediterranean seabed. In this architectural masterwork, the historic vessel has been transformed into a living aquatic sanctuary. Cast in intricately detailed hot bronze, organic coral clusters bloom directly from the ancient silhouette, creating a dramatic structural refuge for Mediterranean Moray eels. The composition captures a silent, frozen narrative—the eels peering outward from their ancient stronghold, bathed in the timeless allure of an eternal Minoan moonlight.
