Bronze Leafy sea dragon sculpture end table by Kirk McGuire Bronze Sculpture

A close relative of the seahorse, the leafy sea dragon is a marvel of natural design, its flowing, leaf-like appendages evoking the silhouette of a mythical ocean dragon. As one of the most ornately camouflaged creatures on earth, it effortlessly vanishes inside dense meadows of coastal seagrass or kelps. Transmuting this delicate anatomy into a free-standing, load-bearing masterwork pushed the boundaries of my foundry practice. To elevate this from a standalone sculpture into a perfectly leveled glass-top architectural end table required a rigorous engineering feat, testing my absolute command over the metal. The final bronze seamlessly fuses museum-grade fine art with functional design, anchoring any luxury space with structural grace and mysterious whimsy.
